Ana Navas

Concepts such as transformation, assimilation, and appropriation play an important role in her work. She is interested in the relationships between design, art, and “low-key” disciplines such as decorative crafts. Through them, she examines the perception of art outside the context of art as well as the notions of “original” and “copy”.

She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe, where she obtained a postgraduate degree with Professor Franz Ackerman. She has been a resident in Charco (León, Mexico), Flora Ars + Natura (Bogotá) and De Ateliers (Amsterdam), among others. She has exhibited at public and private institutions in Latin America and Europe.
